That’s right folks, Run With Pup has gone international!
In my professional life I’m an International Educator, and I work for a study abroad program that’s based in Aix-en-Provence, France. I studied at IAU College as a student, and now I have the pleasure of working in our U.S. Office. One of the my favorite aspects of my job is the opportunity to travel internationally. Over the last two weeks I’ve coordinated a traveling study abroad program for students in France and Spain.
While traveling I try to fit in as many runs as possible. However, with all the walking we’ve done throughout the academic program I haven’t fit in as many as I’d hoped (after 4-5 miles walking I have a hard time pulling on the ‘sneaks!). But I’ve made the best of the times I’ve made it out.
My travels started in Paris, and the view from my room was absolutely beautiful.

On my first day in Paris I tried to beat the jet lag that was trying to lull me to sleep. I decided to combat it with my own walking tour of Paris. The students arrived the next day, and this was my chance to reacquaint myself with the area on my own.

During my walk I encountered the below flyer advertising a local pet adoption…how tempting to bring a new critter home!

I then stopped to read my book on the banks of the Seine. What a beautiful day to meander through Paris!

During my walk I encountered many a Metro sign. I was tempted to hop on, but taking the Metro would defeat my attempt to stay awake through physical movement…but it would have felt oh so good to sit…and sleep – ha!

I ended my walk with a French dinner near the Gare de Lyon.

Later in the week I went for a quick 2.5 mile run, and I came across the Bastille. How cool is it to run through an area steeped in so much history!

I hoped you’ve enjoyed this brief tour of Paris. More to come from Aix-en-Provence and Barcelona soon. In the meantime, you can check out more adventures on Instagram. I’m excited to share these experiences with you!
That must be amazing! Not only do you get to visit these amazing places, but you get a perspective much different than the tourist. I’m off to see your instagram page now.
