#100HappyDays: Days 1-25

It’s official, I’m one quarter of the way through the #100HappyDays challenge, and it’s been going really well. Every day I post a new photo on Instagram with the hashtag #100HappyDays, and each image features something that made me happy within the past 24 hours. The idea behind this is to help people become more appreciative of the good things in life…at least that’s my interpretation!

Here’s a look back on highlights from my first 25 days:

March 29th was mine and Hubs’ 6th (dating) anniversary. I know we’re married now and the clock officially reset last July for our wedding anniversary, but it’s still fun to celebrate where it all began. On our anniversary Hubs made me feel really special. These flowers were just one of my gifts that day. What a sweetie!
On April 8th Hubs and I represented our Alma Mater, Gettysburg College, at a local college fair. It’s very possible we coordinated our outfits to match GBurg’s blue and orange…don’t tell! #DoGreatWork

April 11th - I know this blog is Run with Pup, but we actually have two more critters at home. At the top you’ll see Mercedes (she’s lying on the table between me and my keyboard…she’s my blogging buddy for sure) and in the bottom-left corner you’ll find Luna (she likes to stare at me while I’m on the computer, ha!). We brought these two ladies home in 2011 from the ADOPT Pet Shelter (HYPERLINK). This picture is a montage of images I took when working from home one day. Mercedes helps me type, Luna keeps an eye on everything and Millie cuddles my feet. It’s safe to say that Hubs and I are now outnumbered by the critters in our home!

I turned the big 25 on April 18th, and my family and friends were so generous with their gifts. I think they’ve hopped on the running bandwagon with me because almost all of my gifts had a running theme to them…glorious! I’m loving the new Lulu Lemon outfits, sweet female-friendly headphones and two news books on running (HYPERLINK) (forgot to get those in the pic though…whoops!).

On Sunday, April 19th we took Millie Pup to the park. Hubs and I played Ultimate Frisbee together in college (that’s actually how we met!), so he and I tossed the disc during this outing. To our great surprise Millie proceeded to following the disc between us every time we let it fly. This was a great realization, because it tires out Pup without us putting in too much effort. I’m a big believer in exercise for dogs (Millie and I are now up to two mile runs, and she LOVES it!), but sometimes it’s nice to switch it up. I snapped this photo just before we hopped in the car. Pup was so pooped that she posed for the photo without trying to eat the Frisbee – win!

The #100HappyDays challenge has been exciting this far, and I’m looking forward to seeing it through. It’s a simple enough task which takes only a few minutes out of each day, but I’m finding that through these posts I’m starting to realize what “little things” make me smile. I’m appreciative to have supportive friends and family, and each #100HappyDays photo reminds of this. I also sense a trend that running, Hubs and Millie Pup make me the most happy – shocker, I know 😉

  1. Love this! I have a couple of friends doing this challenge and have been considering doing it myself! Maybe I’ll make May 1st the beginning or something 🙂

    1. Thanks, Cat! If you’re interested I’d definitely recommend giving it a go. It only takes a few minutes out of each day, but I can already find myself becoming more appreciative of the little things 😀 And May 1st is a great start date – you go girl!!
